Features of Polycarbonate Rods
Clear polycarbonate rods are highly durable, transparent and amorphous thermoplastic in their natural state. Depending upon how they are processed, they can be flexible to rigid. They show good dimensional stability, resistance to impact, heat, and many chemicals.

The glass transition temperature of polycarbonate is typically around 147°C. It has a melting temperature of approximately 267°C. Amorphous polycarbonate has a Tg of 147°C. The Tg remains constant as polycarbonate is an amorphous polymer.
Polycarbonate does not typically crystallize, remaining amorphous:
- throughout its entire temperature range, and
- up to its decomposition temperature.
It normally maintains its amorphous structure. It can also be blended with other polymers to modify its properties.
